MassDEP PFAS Free Sampling Program

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has a free sampling program for wells to determine if there is any PFAS contamination. Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) are widely used, long lasting chemicals, components of which break down very slowly over time. Because of their widespread use and their persistence in the environment, many PFAS are found in present in a number of different circumstances including on occasion in drinking water.
