Dunstable Veteran's Services Office Update - February 2025

Greetings fellow Veterans and families.  For those of you who used to read “Neighbor to Neighbor”, this is the continuation of those articles so I can help to bring any updated news concerning your benefits at both the state and federal level.

This month I hopefully have something for you if you are struggling to get by and do not know what the Veterans Department can do for you.  The state has a program called “Chapter 115 Benefits” that can provide you and your family with additional funds for things like your fuel and utilities and many other items to make your life a little easier.  It used to be that you had to come to me for assistance and I would evaluate based on your income and expenses as to if you might qualify for these benefits.  Now you can simply open the PDF file below and click on MassVets Benefit Estimator, answer a few questions, and press a button to send it in to be evaluated.  The program will send you a reply within a minute and you will then know if you might qualify and about how much you night be able to receive every month.  If it states that you might qualify, then you simply get in touch with me, and I will take it from there.

If the reply you get states that you do not qualify, you may qualify in the near future as it looks like the state will make it a bit easier to qualify within the next year.
