Town Center/Route 113 Visioning Project
The purpose of this project is to lead a community visioning process to begin engagement around the potential future of Route 113 and Main Street through Dunstable Town Center. This project will set the stage for a larger corridor project based on the community’s long-range land use vision for Town Center growth and preservation. It will define land use goals for economic development, housing, open space and conservation, historic preservation, and other uses along Route 113, as well as ways to improve safety and access for those traveling on foot, wheelchairs, strollers, and bicycles while controlling vehicle speeds.
The project began with a public workshop on August 13, 2025 where we discussed current land uses and ways to improve connections and opportunities in the center of our community. You can view the meeting agenda here. You can review the presentation here.
There was a survey conducted, modeled after and building off the priorities and ideas identified at the workshop. You can view the survey results and summary of the responses here.
NMCOG held a walk-shop through the project area to assess existing conditions and get additional participant input and a public meeting session followed. You can view the agenda of the second public meeting held in October here. And the meeting presentation here.
Based on significant input received through the methods above, the final report is available. The vision focuses on creating a safer, more walkable and connected Town Center while preserving the rural, historic, and agricultural character that makes Dunstable special. Priorities identified by residents included improving pedestrian safety and walkability, supporting small-scale local businesses, expanding housing options thoughtfully, strengthening connections to open space, and preserving historic resources.
