School Vacation Activity Suggestion : Hand Made Birthday Cards for Our Town's Senior Citizens

SeniorBirthday

Looking for something to keep the kids busy this upcoming vacation week? Why not tap into their creativity with a lesson of community service?

The Council on Aging has a program that mails over 700 birthday cards each year to Dunstable residents over the age of 75. Over the last year classes from Swallow Union and Florence Roche Elementary have been creating cards for the program but the demand is great and the COA could use more!

It's best to use Blank 4X6 Greeting Cards that come with envelopes ( these can be found on Amazon, Michael's etc).

Design cards that feels personal but are not specific to a person. For example " I heard it was your birthday and wanted to make you a card".

Do not seal the cards in the envelopes, Drop the cards at Town Hall ( Upper Level) attention: Chuck. These cards will become inventory for the COA to mail out as the birthdays arrive.

If you have any questions contact Chuck at [email protected] or 978-649-4514 x 223

** this is an ongoing program and cards are welcome at any time and can be created by any person who would like to create cards for our seniors.
