Route 113 Visioning Project: Community Walkshop & Public Meeting Recap
On October 29th, the Northern Middlesex Council of Governments (NMCOG), in partnership with the Town of Dunstable, hosted a pair of community engagement events aimed at shaping the future of the Dunstable Town Center.
During the day, NMCOG led a “Walkshop” with local residents, taking an observational walk along Route 113 from Town Hall. The walk provided an opportunity for participants to experience the streetscape firsthand and discuss ideas for improving safety, accessibility, and connectivity.
That evening, NMCOG facilitated a virtual public meeting to share the results of the recent town-wide community survey and gather feedback on the draft vision and goals for the Town Center. The meeting focused on understanding local priorities, including:
- Safer streets and pedestrian access
- Support for small-scale local businesses
- Improved connections to open space
- Activation of the Town Center as a vibrant community hub
As part of the meeting, NMCOG presented the draft vision statement for the future of Dunstable Town Center:
“Dunstable Town Center will be a welcoming, safe, walkable village that honors its historic heritage, welcomes small-scale businesses, and connects residents and visitors to the town’s abundant open spaces.”
Residents are encouraged to review the full presentation and survey results, which offer valuable insights into community-identified strengths, opportunities, and ideas for future development.
