Route 113 Improvement Project Update

Update 4/27/23: Due to the forecasted rain this weekend, the initial binder course of pavement has been rescheduled to be installed starting Friday morning, April 28 and is expected to take several days to complete. This schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors out of our control. As a reminder, this layer of pavement is not final pavement but will provide a safe surface for travel.

Yesterday, the project’s contractor, Lynch Construction, filled the large potholes in the road, spread and graded new material along the project limits to make the road suitable for travel.

As Lynch continues its work this week, they plan to prepare the road for a binder layer of asphalt which will include construction of the subgrade of the road.

In order to accomplish this, there will be a detour in place all week on this portion of Route 113 from 6 AM to 3 PM. Westbound traffic will be detoured and a single lane of travel will be open eastbound, same as yesterday and today.

The initial binder course of pavement is currently scheduled to be installed starting Sunday night, April 30 and is expected to take several days to complete. This schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors out of our control. As a reminder, this layer of pavement is not final pavement but will provide a safe surface for travel.
