Each fiscal year, the Town’s tax levy is able to increase by 2.5% plus new growth. For FY25, 2.5% increase is $276,577. New growth is the new development in Town or improvements to properties that result in an increased assessed value. The new growth revenue planned for FY25 is $110,000. In addition, the tax levy also includes excluded debt projects approved by the voters of Dunstable. The anticipated excluded debt payments in FY25 are $318,070. Lastly, under Proposition 2.5 communities are allowed to increase taxes beyond the levy limit with voter approval. The Town’s FY25 recommended budget is reliant on a $763,266 general fund override to balance.
