Prudence Wright was born in what was part of Dunstable on November 26, 1740. In 1741, the area became part of New Hampshire and was incorporated as the town of Hollis. Prudence later became famous for leading a group of women in Pepperell during the American Revolution. Known as "Mrs. Wright's Guard," they captured loyalist spies and made significant contributions to the Patriot cause. Wright's leadership is still remembered today as a remarkable example of women's involvement in the Revolutionary War. #celebratingwomenindunstable #WomensHistoryMonth
