Community Preservation Act Projects on the Warrant – Special Town Meeting 2025

Dunstable residents will have the opportunity to vote on several important community projects at the upcoming Special Town Meeting, all proposed for funding through the Community Preservation Act (CPA). These initiatives aim to preserve historic resources, improve public facilities, and enhance recreational spaces across town.
Article 2 – Library HVAC Improvements
CPA Request: $58,750
The Dunstable Public Library seeks funding to replace a failing boiler in the Special Collections area, protecting fragile historical materials from environmental damage.
Article 3 – Digitization of Historical Records
CPA Request: $41,000
This project will digitize irreplaceable town records and artifacts, ensuring long-term preservation and expanding public access.
Article 4 – Town Hall Chimney Replacement
CPA Request: Additional $25,000 (Total estimated project construction and design costs: $42,000)
A permanent repair is needed for the roof area around Town Hall’s elevator vent to prevent leaks and protect the municipal server room.
Article 5 – Town Hall HVAC Improvements
CPA Request: $35,000
Funding will replace two outdated HVAC systems to maintain climate control in key areas of Town Hall.
Article 6 – Babe Ruth Baseball Field Rehabilitation (proposed but not yet approved by the Community Preservation Committee)
CPA Request: $36,900
With Groton’s primary field under renovation, Dunstable’s field will be restored to support youth baseball, including infield work, grading, and mound reconstruction.
Article 7 – Swallow Union Playground Shade Structure (proposed but not yet approved by the Community Preservation Committee)
CPA Request: $131,368.27
A permanent shade structure will transform an underused outdoor area into a flexible learning and gathering space for students and families.
Article 9 – Larter Field Stabilization & PARC Grant Match (proposed but not yet approved by the Community Preservation Committee)
CPA Request: $1.352 million (includes borrowing authority)
This project will stabilize unsafe playing fields at Larter Field, match a $100,000 PARC grant, and prepare the site for future recreational enhancements.
