The Water Thief

The water thief is a small, gated manifold-type appliance that was developed in the late 1930s. It is used to regulate the pressure and volume of water coming from the water source; engine or tanker drafting from another site. It can also me used to charge additional supply lines using both the left and right 2.5 inch shutoffs.

This piece of equipment is housed on Engine 6, and is used for most incidents involving water supply situations.
