Boule lot dispute

Email from Mary Foster

My parents got divorced many years ago. They co-owned 6 plots in Central Cemetery.  The six lots were divided by the court decree when my parents got divorced.   My father has passed and was buried on Monday. In the rules and regs it states that plots of 6 can only have one headstone. My step-mother will be putting a headstone on my father's grave but  will not be big enough to add my mother when she passes. Will we be allowed to place a separate headstone for her other three lots when the time comes?

Hi Mary,

A copy of the court order would be helpful, thank you. The trouble with the dividing of the lot so that there could be two stones is that the layout has three grave sites to the north and three grave sites to the south, not six consecutive lots.  So, basically three in front and three behind a headstone. We do sell two-grave lots and four- grave lots so potentially there could be a split of the lot into one four-grave and one two-grave lot, in which case two monuments could be put in.  I should mention that a total of one standard burial and four sets of cremated remains can be interred per gravesite and each interment can have its own flat marker.  That may or may not be helpful in you and your mother's figuring, but I just wanted to put it out there, so you are aware.

 .
Thank you,
Mary Fortier
