September ended with some great wellness events!  The crystal soundbowl healing and Drum Circle event were both well attended and well received.

Upcoming Weekly Wednesday Luncheons at The Dunstable Public Library (unless noted otherwise).   Please remember to ensure we have enough food, your reservation for lunch must be made by the prior Wednesday.   You can sign up at the luncheon or by reaching out to Chuck at [email protected] or 978-649-4514x223    A suggested contribution of $5 from those who can afford it, is greatly appreciated to offset costs, this is voluntary please do not let it stop you from attending.   Lunch is served at Noon but the space is available from 10-2 p.m.  Before and after lunch, there are several games you can join in on including Scrabble & Mexican Train Dominoes.  Please see individual dates for unique entertainment or guests. 

We have been mindful of having healthy options.  We recently started having the option of Carb Smart Ice Cream for those watching their sugars for dessert.

October 7th -  Pizza and Birthday Cake.  Celebrating the Birthdays of the month.   Were you born in October?  We'd love for you to join us so that we can celebrate you. 

October 14th-  BINGO RETURNS and Traveling Chef :  Fall Harvest Meal with Chicken Cordon Bleu, Roasted Fall Vegetables, Mashed Sweet Potatoes and Bread Pudding.  YUM!   Cash Prize Bingo starts following lunch, please arrive by 12:45 pm if you are not joining for lunch.   $5 each or $10 for both.     TECH SUPPORT will also be available with Dean.  

October 21st-  Chicken Strips with dipping sauce,  Capri Veggies, Sweet Potatoes and dessert.  

October 28th-  HALLOWEEN PARTY.  Dress Festive.   Potato Leek Soup with Ham & Cheese Sandwiches and dessert.  

EXERCISE PROGRAM- There will be no classes on Monday 10/12/26 in observance of the holiday.

YOGA.   Join Sherida for yoga Mondays at 4 p.m. at Town Hall Lower Level.   This class has been extended through the end of the year!   Come join Sherida for an always different yoga experience that is accessible and welcome to all levels!  Please bring your own yoga mat or towel.  This class if free for all Dunstable Residents who would like to attend.  

Bone Builders is a class to combat osteoporosis,improve function and enhance the quality of life for our older residents. It is offered free to residents at the Dunstable Public Library on Wednesdays at 10:30 A.M. and Friday at 11:15 A.M.  If you have not participated before, please feel free to stop by to observe and pick up enrollment paperwork.  

FREE!  Fit Over 50 "Fitness Fusion Class"  -  As part of a Wellness Grant from Age Span this has been extended.   This is a great class for those who are looking for a class that might be a little more challenging than Bone Builders. This Class Meets Monday Mornings at 11:30 a.m. at Town Hall Lower Level and is FREE!   Fitness Fusion combines a variety of exercise styles to offer a low impact but powerful session that targets all areas of the body with great music and a fun atmosphere with a certified instructor from the YMCA.   This class is typically $10 so if you haven't tried it yet, come join in on Mondays while the cost is covered for you.

Oktoberfest 5k & Festival.  Join in for Dunstable's 3rd Annual Oktoberfest at Larter Field.   The morning starts with a 5K through town and continues with the festival that includes food, vendors, beer garden, live music, games for the whole family.    If you haven't been to Oktoberfest yet, it's definitley worth checking out.    There is still time to join over 100 runners for the race too.  https://runsignup.com/Race/MA/Dunstable/DunstableDash

Monthly Wellness Check Visits with a nurse are back the fourth Wednesday of every month from 11 a.m.- Noon.  

FLU CLINIC at the Dunstable Public Library  October 10th   11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

You are not alone – a SHINE counselor can explain your options. Learn about the structure of Medicare, when to enroll, and helpful tips to choose plans that suit you, your lifestyle and your Medicare insurance needs. Sessions will be presented by a certified SHINE Counselor who provides unbiased Medicare health insurance information and will help guide you through your Medicare options. You are invited to attend an “Introduction to Medicare” zoom session with SHINE on 9/16 from 4-6 p.m.   This is the final date of several that had been announced and shared here on this newsletter.
