Official Results of the Annual Town Election 2026
Brynn C. Durno, Town Clerk
The official results of yesterday’s Annual Town Election can be found here: dunstable-ma.gov/ate2026-results. Congratulations to all candidates who were elected and thank you to everyone who ran for office to serve the Town.
During yesterday’s election, it was discovered that an important elected office was inadvertently left off the ballot. The office of Groton Dunstable Regional School Committee Member did not appear on the ballot. Incumbent and current School Committee Chair Lacey McCabe should have appeared on the ballot for re-election, unopposed. She was the only candidate for the position who submitted the required certified nomination signatures to qualify for the ballot.
As a result of this error, the Town was unable to elect a representative to the seat at yesterday’s election, creating a vacancy on the School Committee. The process to fill this vacancy is outlined in the Regional School District Agreement, which provides that the Select Board and the remaining Dunstable member of the School Committee meet jointly and, by majority vote, appoint a person to serve until the next Annual Town Election. The Select Board and Dunstable School Committee member Christina Andriole have coordinated a meeting to appoint Lacey McCabe to the School Committee.
The Town Clerk’s Office and Town Hall staff sincerely apologize for this oversight, particularly to Lacey McCabe. Chair McCabe has dedicated a significant amount of time and energy to serving both the Town of Dunstable and the Groton Dunstable Regional School District and has demonstrated strong leadership and commitment to the community, district, and its students. She deserved better and for this, again, we apologize.
Sincerely,
