Message from the Town Forest Committee

The Dunstable Town Forest Committee plans a timber harvest soon in the Pierce Town Forest on Groton Street. The harvest area will be primarily in the "plantation pine" (southern) portion of the forest. Nearly all of the red pine will be harvested, as it is starting to die off as Red Pine Scale moves northward into our area. There will also be a selective harvest of white pine to allow room for continued growth of mature trees and healthy growth/regeneration of young trees. Existing trails will be crossed at right angles and left clear at the end of the harvest.
