Purchasing Transfer Station Permits – Stickers and Tags

To use the transfer station, you must have a transfer station sticker on your car and tags on all trash bags. Tags from the previous year may be used in January, while new permits are being sold. However, by the end of January, you must have a current- year sticker on your car and use current-year tags. Transfer Station regulations are strictly enforced.

Standard household permit: 2 car stickers and 55 trash bag tags $100
Senior permit:
(Home owner must be 65 or older to qualify.)
2 car stickers and 55 tags $25
Additional tags:
sold in sets of 5 $10/set

After January, all fees are prorated. If needed, you can also purchase extra tags. (See Transfer Station Regulations for pro-rated pricing information.)

Stickers may be purchased at the Town Hall from either the Board of Health, Town Clerk or Town Hall personnel. Most residents purchase their permits for the upcoming year when they go on sale in early January. The Board of Health and Town Clerk often post special Saturday hours in January for residents to purchase tags at the Town Hall. Watch this website for notices regarding the sale of new transfer station stickers and tags.

Up to two stickers may be issued. You will need to present your current car registration(s) when you pick up your stickers and tags. If the car registration does not show your Dunstable address, you will also need to present a letter or other document as evidence that you live in town.

You may also purchase transfer station stickers and tags by mail. Send a large (8-1/2x11) self-addressed envelope with three 41 cent stamps, plus a copy of your car registration(s), and a check (payable to: Town of Dunstable) to the Dunstable Board of Health, PO Box 268, Dunstable, MA 01827.

NOTE: You can turn in any remaining old stickers for a drawing that is held at the Annual Town Meeting each year. The winner receives free trash stickers for the next year.
