Fishing Licenses Now On Sale

Fishing licenses are now on sale.  The cost of a resident fishing license is $28.50 and they make great gifts!  If you can’t come in during my office hours, you can call me with the information and I’ll pre-issue the license for pickup (does not apply to hunting or sporting licenses).

New passport fees went into effect February 1

Late Fee Assessed After March 1 for Unlicensed Dogs

As of March 1, a late fee of $10 will be assessed for unlicensed dogs, in addition to the license fee.  A current rabies certificate must be on file with the Town Clerk to purchase a license.  If you no longer own a dog that was licensed in 2007, please let me know so we can remove the dog's name from our records.  All dogs age 6 months or older must be licensed under MA state law.  Please contact the Clerk's office for the status of your dog's rabies certificate if you are unsure.

Return Town Census by Jan 10!

Please return your annual town census by January 10. It is especially important this year due to the early date of the primary. Thank you!

Time to renew dog licenses - deadline Mar 1

Dog licenses expire December 31st. If you no longer own a dog that was licensed this year, please let me know so we can remove the dog’s name from our records. Dog licenses for 2008 are now on sale at the Town Clerk's office. All dogs age 6 months or older must be licensed under MA state law. The annual fee in the Town of Dunstable is $6.00 for a spayed/neutered dog and $10.00 for an unaltered dog. A late fee of $10 will be assessed after March 1. A current rabies certificate must be on file with the Town Clerk to purchase a license.

Popular dog names - 2007

In 2007, the most popular name for dogs was Bailey followed by Lilly, Max and Molly (3 way tie). New popular names added to the list this year were Brandy and Sophie. Buddy and Rocky were still popular but lost their top spots. Most popular breed was the Labrador Retriever followed by the Golden Retriever and German Shepherds. We saw an increase in popularity with Shelties, Shih-tzu, Chihuahuas, Lhasa Apsos and Weimaraners. There were 676 dogs on record and 4 licensed kennels.

Renewal of annual absentee ballot applications are due

Renewal of annual absentee ballot applications for 2008 are now due. <!--break-->If you are disabled, you may qualify for a permanent absentee application. A letter from your doctor is required stating that you are unable to travel to the polls because of illness or a disability. In these cases, a ballot for every election is automatically sent to your home.

Raffle Permits

Nonprofit organizations in existence for more than two years, that are either veterans' organizations chartered by Congress; church or religious organizations; fraternal or fraternal benefit societies; educational or charitable organizations; civic or service club organizations; or a club or organization operated exclusively for pleasure, recreation, and other nonprofit purposes, where no part of the net earnings inures to the benefit of any member or shareholder, may apply to the Town Clerk to conduct a raffle or a bazaar.

Passports

The Town Clerk’s office is an approved Passport Acceptance Facility.

How do I protect my business name?

Filing a Business Certificate at the local level does not protect your name.
