Affordable Housing Production Plan Development

The Affordable Housing Study Committee announced that the Dunstable Planned Production Plan for Affordable Housing was approved by the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development on May 2. The AHSC received feedback from the DHCD that it was a very well thought out and comprehensive plan which clearly showed that Dunstable understands the guidelines. This is a first, but very significant step in the town's efforts to gain more town control over how affordable housing is implemented in Dunstable.

Tyler Estates 40B proposal (Mill Street)

On July 26th, 2004, the Board of Selectmen heard presentations on two different housing developments that are being proposed for construction under the comprehensive permit allowed by M.G.L. Chapter 40b Sections 20-23 that would include affordable housing. In order to meet the state's guidelines for adequately meeting community housing needs, each town is expected to have at least 10% of its housing units (based on Federal census data) be affordable for people who earn 80% of the median income

Presentations on Chapter 40b

On December 9, 2004, the ZBA invited all boards to attend a presentation by Attorney Jon Witten and Dick Heaton, a consultant that is working with them, on the Comprehensive Permit Process under Chapter 40B. The following are handouts from that hearing:
