Hello,

I hope everyone is enjoying the warm weather, after this winter we all need a little warmth. The forecast shows rain for the next few days. I hope that we do not have any of the horrible flooding that has occurred over the past few years.

Congratulations to Dunstable's Own Unsung Heroine - Ruth L. Tully

The Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women has announced their selections for 2008. Ruth has been selected as the Dunstable community's Unsung Heroine of 2008. 

Ruth was nonimated for this honor by Senator Steven C. Panagiotakos.

Congratulations, Ruth!

I hope everyone is having a safe winter. Just remember spring is just around the corner 

I'd like to take a minute to talk about identity theft. Identity theft is a rapidly growing problem. Have you ever been a victim of identity theft? Or should I ask do you know if you have been a victim? Do you know how to receive your free credit report? These are all questions that you need to ask yourself before you are a victim of identity fraud.

Prescription Advantage

Prescription Advantage is a Massachusetts program that supplements the assistance covering the cost of prescription medicine that is provided by MedicareRx. Contact Senior Services for more information, or to get an application.

Fuel Assistance Applications

Fuel assistance applications are accepted starting in September. Contact Senior Services for more information.

Senior Work Credit Program

Taxpayers age 60 and older can apply for the Senior Work Credit Program beginning May 1, 2006. Between July 1 and June 30 of the following year, qualifying seniors can earn credit up to $750 on property taxes. Ten slots are available. Submit your application to the Assessor's Office. For more information, contact Senior Services or the Assessors' office.

Handyman Services

Dunstable has a handyman available to do odd jobs for seniors. Contact Senior Services to make arrangements.

Transportation

Alternative transportation is provided for medical appointments and grocery shopping.
