Henry Property Acquisition

Status:
Inactive
ConsCom led this initiative to acquire 26 acres in an area along Salmon Brook that has been a high priority for conservation. The land has since become the Amos Kendall Conservation Land.
Timeframe:
06/01/2005 - 11/07/2005
The Conservation Commission will make a motion at the November 7, 2005 Special Town Meeting to purchase 26 acres (Lot "A") from Kathleen and Dick Henry. The property abuts Salmon Brook and several other parcels of conservation land that are part of the Salmon Brook corridor, an area that has been targeted for preservation in the town's Dunstable Open Space and Recreation Plan.

The price on the property is $730,000. The Conservation Commission has obtained a Self-Help grant from the state, which would pay for $371,200 of the price. They propose to use additional funds from the Conservation Land Fund, Town Timber Fund, the Wetlands Protection Act fund, and the Spaulding-Proctor Timber fund (under a restriction that limits its use to land along Salmon Brook).
