The Dunstable Police Department is pleased to announce the debut of a new public safety T.V. cable access program titled Groton Dunstable 911. This program may be seen on Charter channel 13 and Verizon F.I.O.S channel 31. (Monday 7:00 p.m. Wednesday 6:30 p.m. Thursday 5:30 p.m and Saturday 10:30 a.m) The Dunstable Police Department has partnered with the Groton Police Department and the Groton Cable Access Channel in order to provide a bi monthly cable program that features interesting public safety topics.
Each program is segmented into three different topic sections. The first section will discuss recent community updates. The second section will feature crime prevention and the last section will be our feature topic for the program. We expect to invite guests to the program that may highlight specific public safety matters of concern while sharing their unique expertise. Without the help of our volunteers and members of the Groton partnership, this program would have not been possible, so we thank each one of them for their support.
During the month of August, Lieutenant James W. Dow attended management training provided through the North East Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council. Officers Sargent and Hoar completed Basic Computer Crime Investigation on August 14th sponsored by the North East Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council. Training was held at Middlesex Community College. Chief Downes conducted management training for supervisors and middle managers affiliated with the North East Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council.
With school in session, the Dunstable Police Department reminds motorist to continue to drive cautiously while allowing extra time in order to arrive safely at your destination. Recent school and college openings tend to spike traffic volume during prime hours.
Until next time! We thank you for your continued support.
James G. Downes III
