The Police Department thanks all the residents that attended and participated at the Dunstable Annual Town Meeting held on May 12th 2008 at the Swallow Union School. In addition, the Police Department recognizes the volunteerism of all town boards and committees which continue to give freely of their time and expertise in order to better our community. Thank you to all!
During the month of May, officers continued their training. Officer Benjamin Sargent and Officer Erik Hoar attended a free of charge North East Massachusetts Law Enforcement drug recognition seminar. Both officers will share the knowledge of this training with the remaining members of the Dunstable Police Department. In addition, the Dunstable Police Department has partnered with neighboring communities to support an active shooter training module. Officers will continue to review the training module and practice tactical skills throughout the summer months.
On Sunday, May 26th, the Dunstable Police Department provided traffic assistance for the annual Memorial Day parade. It remains important that we continue to take time to recognize our fallen heroes and those that continue to sacrifice in the name of freedom. "Hats off" to all those who planned, organized and participated in our Memorial Day Parade. A special thank you goes out to our decorated World War II veterans who continue to participate in the quarter of a mile march to the cemetery. I am sure age and the passing of time does not make this walk any easier. Your serviced to our country remains much appreciated.
Lastly, I wish to recognize the many dedicated years of service that the Dunstable Commons Web site has provided in order to keep our community better informed. Thank you!
Wishing all a happy and safe summer!
