New passport fees went into effect February 1. The new fee for ages 16 and over is $75 with a $25 execution fee to the acceptance facility and ages 15 and under is $60 in addition to a $25.00 execution fee. The US Dept of State is introducing a new passport card in the spring, not for travel by air. For further information, visit http://www.travel.state.gov/. Also, effective February 1, all passport applications for minors under the age of 16 will require the consent and appearance of both parents (raised from age 14).
