This page describes a number of the programs and seasonal events that are regularly offered at the Dunstable Free Public Library. Please refer to the Library Activities page for details and scheduling of current activities.

NOTE: Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times when visiting the Library or attending Library programs.
LUCKY DUCKS MUSIC TIME
This
preschool music is usually offered on Fridays at 2:15pm. We are very fortunate to have Gabrielle
Premkumar playing the piano for us. Gabrielle is a sophomore at GDRHS
and a talented pianist. Participants will use rhythm instrument, march
and sing. A story is also included each week. Sign-up sheet available.
The program is FREE, but parents must have a Mass. library card.
STORY HOUR
Three ten-week sessions of Children's Story Hour are offered each year for 3, 4, and 5 year old children. Registration
is required. Watch for notices regarding registration prior to the start of each session.
YOUNG ADULT MEETING
Looking for kids In Grades 5-8 to be a part of a newly formed group -
the YAMADs (Youths Actually Making a Difference). Come join the fun.
Check the calendar (or right side of Library page)
for meeting times. Come and
help plan events just for you. Registration is required.
Young adults are also welcome to participate in programs that are open for all ages.
ADULT BOOK CLUB
Meetings are at 8:00 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of every month. Click

books the club will be reading this year. The library provides
extra copies of all books. Sometimes questions are posed to get the
discussion going. New members are welcome any time.
CRIBBAGE GROUP
Meets on the second Wednesday of every month from 7:30 - 9
p.m. Open to all ages. The regulars are willing to teach new players.
KNITTING, CROCHETING and RUG HOOKING CLASS
Monday nights from 7 - 9 (at Swallow Union School).
Rug hooking with Marge Kimpton and
knitting & crocheting, under the direction of Donna Acquaviva - These classes are
open to all ages and all levels of experience, including those who want
to learn. Marge has put together
several rug-hooking packets that can be purchased for a very reasonable
price.
Each year, Dunstable residents look forward to a number of annual events that the Library sponsors.
Annual Pie Bake-Off - Every spring, Dunstable bakers compete for the Silver Spoon award.
Easter Egg Decorating - an event for children that is guaranteed to yield beautifully decorated eggs that you can keep forever.
Candidates Night - Prior to each election, this events gives candidates an opportunity to speak to voters and for voters to ask questions of the candidates.
Plant Swap - Usually held in front of the library on the first Saturday in June. As you go about your gardening this spring put aside your extra plants to swap for other desirable plants. This is a very popular event in that we share from each other’s gardens. We usually have lots of perennials, herbs, seedlings, and even shrubs and prices are very reasonable. The library has a large collection of gardening books for you to checkout, as this is a very popular topic in our community.
Annual Book Sale - Friends of the Library organizes a book sale during the fourth week of June each year. Book donations of adult fiction, children’s books, and videos/ DVDs are welcome. Please do not drop off textbooks, non-fiction books older than 5 years, Condensed Reader Digests or magazines. Please bring your donations during library hours, as books left outside may become damaged. The book sale is the main fund-raiser for the Friends and they appreciate your support.
Marching in Memorial Day Parade - The library participates in this annual event by having kids dress up according to a theme. Kids and their families are always welcome to march with us. Meet at the library at 12:45 p.m. to line up for the parade.
Summer Reading Program - Every summer the Library provides a variety of activities designed to get kids into the library over the summer and encourage them to read. Readers earn "book bucks" for the time they spend reading, which they can spend on various items in the library "general store."
Vehicle Night - Library organizers arrange for one of every kind of vehicle to gather on the town common for a few hours to give everyone, including a kids, a chance to check them out up close.
Dunstable Night at the Spinners - the Library purchases and sells a block of tickets for Dunstable residents to attend a Lowell Spinners game in the company of friends and neighbors.
Pumpkin Decorating Contest - kids and adults are invited to decorate pumpkins to compete in various categories. These are some of the most creative Halloween pumpkins you'll ever see.
Children's Halloween Party - a chance for young kids to get together and parade their costumes in a fun and safe environment.
Gingerbread House Decorating - an event in which young kids are challenged to get more candy stuck onto their gingerbread houses than they put in their mouth. The results are wonderful.
Children's Holiday Party - a party for young children to holidays.
Holiday Book Sale - "like new" used books and videos are sold for bargain rates during December.
