Background on FY08 Budget
PLEASE NOTE:
In order to balance the budget that was approved at the Annual Town Meeting, the Selectmen have called for a Special Town Election to ask whether voters will approve an override for only the amount needed to balance the Approved FY08 Budget.Finance Committee's position statement regarding July 30 override question.

The line item numbers highlighted in yellow were changed by motions on the Town Meeting floor. Some line items for police, fire, library, highway, and recreation were increased. Others were decreased. However, the resulting budget requires additional revenue to be balanced. The town budget must be balanced before the town can set its tax rate. The tax rate must be set by the beginning of December.

Important Dates
A Special Election will be held on July 30 at the Dunstable Library between 12:00 noon and 8:00 pm.
The ballot has one question that asks whether voters will approve an override of $79,494.
Voter registration deadline is July 10 at 8:00pm
Absentee ballot deadline is July 27 at 5:00pm
REVISED Town Budget Information (for June 4)
No Override Budget
(This was the balanced budget published by FinCom on 6/4/07. Some numbers were changed when the budget was presented at the town meeting. Voters subsequently changed other numbers to reach the approved budget for FY08.The breathing equipment (reduced to 3 new air packs to replace 30 yr old air packs currently used to enter burning buildings) is Article 11, and fire truck repairs (leaf spring, carburetor problem, and water leak on Engine 2) is Article 12. Motions on both of these articles passed.

Annual Town Election
In the Annual Town Election, Dunstable voted NO on two override questions, one for municipal services and the other for the Groton Dunstable Regional School District. Results of the election are on the Election Results page.
