Annual Town Meeting 2024: Warrant Articles 11 & 16
Larter Field Improvements

Both Articles 11 and 16 request support for improvements at Larter Field. Article 11 would appropriate $11,940 from the CPA Open Space/Recreation Allocation to continue and complete the restoration work on the Larter Field wells. Article 16 requests a supplemental appropriation from CPA funds in the amount of $140,875 to fund new tennis courts at Larter Field. You may recall, at 2020 Town Meeting $182,000 was approved to rehabilitate the existing tennis courts behind Swallow Union Elementary School and, last year, Town Meeting reallocated this funding to support relocating and constructing new tennis courts at Larter Field. The Parks and Recreation Commissions issued an Invitation for Bids and the low bid on the project was $300,875. This funding request will cover the balance of the cost of the project and design and construction oversight for the Town.
